Guestbook

2018

Usually one finds a guestbook in every museum at the entrance or exit. There visitors can record their impressions or at least chronicle their visit through their signature. Karin Sander transposes this practice into an installation where visitors put their impressions, comments, and signatures on paper at a table and then pin the results somewhere on the room walls. This three-dimensional guestbook grows, a “work in progress” visible to all, over the duration of the exhibition – a collective composition in which its visitors are also participants.
